Tom Jones
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL counselor
Tom currently serves as a pastor of counseling at Keystone Church in Greensburg, PA while also working as a licensed professional counselor at Keystone Christian Counseling & Life Coaching. After pastoring for 34 years, Tom felt led to seek a degree in the field of counseling. He received his Master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in May 2016. Tom has a passion to work with pastors in the daily stress and trauma involved with the ministry of pastoring. Having gone through a very difficult time personally and seeking counseling in 2009, God opened his eyes to the benefit and need of counseling for pastors. He works with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Trauma, Sexual Addiction, marital counseling, and pre-marital counseling. Tom was reluctant to seek personal counseling for most of his ministry believing that a strong pastor should be able to work through individual issues by praying harder and being a “stronger Christian.” He now realizes that it is not necessary to carry the load alone. Certainly, God desires to help and He uses others to come along beside, as well. Tom works with couples, individuals, and families as well as pastors.
Tom prefers a less clinical and more personal approach to therapy. He uses a non-critical, encouraging approach to develop a safe environment to facilitate growth and well-being. His favorite mode of therapy is CBT but utilizes other modalities to assist those with whom he works to move toward a healthy, fulfilling life.
Tom has been married to his wife Pam since 1980. They were high school sweethearts and got married when they were both 17 years old. Their first daughter was born eighteen months later. Tom was pastoring his first church at the age of 19. God blessed Tom and Pam with two more daughters, and they now have seven grandchildren.
As a hobby, Tom owns a beautiful buckskin quarter horse named, Bella. He enjoys trail riding, doing ground-work, and grooming his horse when time allows.
